Will Bitcoin reach $90,000 before 2027?

Short cycle drawdowns and historical post-bottom rallies point to an intriguing year-end opportunity for crypto traders

Will Bitcoin reach $90,000 before 2027?

Bitcoin closed at $58,554 on June 30, 2026, the lowest print since the October 2025 top and, so far, the floor of this cycle. It has since recovered to $75,928, putting price action back in a familiar post‑bottom recovery pattern. The problem is that this cycle’s low arrived much sooner and fell less hard than in the past.

Bitcoin topped at $124,724 on October 6, 2025, and bottomed 267 days later. In previous cycles, the trough came 406 days after the December 2013 top, 364 days after December 2017, and 378 days after November 2021. The drawdown was also the shallowest of the four: 53.1% versus 76.7%, 83.6%, and 85.3% in those earlier cycles.

We are now 78 days past the low, with Bitcoin up 29.7% from the bottom. That’s an ordinary pace compared to the 39.1%, 19.1%, and 47.5% gains the three previous recoveries had posted at the same point.

Looking ahead, the highest price reached in the 184 days after each prior low sat 24.9% above the day‑78 level in 2015, 150.1% in 2019, and 33.5% in 2023. December 31 is day 184 of this recovery. Applied to today’s $75,928, the weakest of the three analogs implies a year‑end Bitcoin price of $94,834, while the 2023 analog points to $101,384.

We believe Bitcoin’s bottom is in, and a drop back below $60,000 looks unlikely after more than $6 billion in positions were liquidated during the recent rally. A more plausible path is a modest pullback toward the $73,000–$74,000 zone, followed by a leg up or a consolidation in the $75,000–$82,000 range, which is what is happening currently, and then another leg higher.

At the time of writing this, Polymarket traders are pricing only a 41% chance that Bitcoin reaches $90,000 by year‑end. At 41 cents, a “Yes” on the $90,000 contract offers about a 143.90% return in under four months if the target is hit. Given the historical analogs and the structure of the recovery so far, that looks like an attractive risk‑reward for a move that the past three cycles suggest is well within reach.
