The gap between SanDisk's guidance and the estimate is the smallest it has been in three quarters

SanDisk sold $5.95 billion of flash memory in the three months to April and earned $23.41 a share doing it. In the same three months a year earlier, the company lost 30 cents a share. Polymarket's contract on the August 5th report asks whether SanDisk clears $34.52 a share this time, and the yes side trades at 90 cents.
The popular answer is yes due to the backlog. SanDisk carries $41.6 billion of contracted revenue it has not yet billed, and it signed three multi-year supply deals in a single quarter. Those contracts fix prices at the near end. Luis Visoso, the finance chief himself, said so plainly on the April call.
What actually produces the beat is that SanDisk keeps guessing low about a price nobody can forecast. It set this quarter's guidance on April 30, four weeks into the quarter. Across those same three months, NAND flash contract prices rose about 70%. Its gross margin has come in 8.1 points and then 11.4 points above the top of its own forecast in the last two quarters. Revenue has landed 4.9%, then 14.2%, then 24% above the top of the range.
Which brings you to the only number that decides Wednesday. Polymarket froze the bar at $34.52 when it opened the market on July 24. SanDisk's own guidance runs $30.00 to $33.00. So the company has to beat the top of its own range by 4.6%. It has beaten the top of its own range by 35.6%, then 82.4%, then 67.2%.
The shares fell more than 30% in three days this week after a Chinese memory maker listed in Shanghai at a $487 billion valuation. But that doesn't affect this number right now as SanDisk's quarter closed on July 3. The report is basically a fact about the past.
Buying yes costs 93 cents, which returns about 7.5% on August 5, should the number clear. For this bet to lose, SNDK has to land inside its own forecast for the first time since it became a company.
