Kimi Antonelli leads Formula 1 by 45 points in the best car on the grid with twelve races left, and backing him pays 35%
Kimi Antonelli went into the Formula 1 summer break the same way he has spent most of the season, on top of the championship. After the Belgian Grand Prix, he holds 204 points to Lewis Hamilton's 159, a 45-point lead, with George Russell a further five back. Polymarket's F1 drivers' champion market puts him at 74 cents to close it out, which pays a full dollar and about 35% when the title is settled at Abu Dhabi on December 6.
Antonelli drives the Mercedes, which has the best energy recovery system on the grid under the sweeping 2026 rules, and the easiest proof of how good it is sits 50 points behind him. The chasers do not need to beat Antonelli so much as they need his car to break down. And, let's be honest, these cars and the teams behind them cost a fortune. That fortune is also poured into reliability precisely so the cars finish.
Buying Antonelli at 74 cents pays about 35% over 4.5 months. The only way it loses is if a 45-point lead, in the best car on the grid, driven by the most complete rookie Formula 1 has produced in a generation, comes apart through crashes or breakdowns, because nobody behind him has the pace to take the title the honest way.
