With Guardiola gone, who wins the Premier League in 2027?
There is a way to back the Premier League title without picking a champion, and it has worked nine years running

The Premier League season starts on Friday night, when Arsenal play Coventry City at the Emirates. Arsenal won the title in May with 85 points, seven clear of Manchester City and 22 years after the last one. Polymarket's 2027 EPL champion market prices them at 45.5 cents, Manchester City at 21.5, and Liverpool at 12.5.
If one buys all three, then the total costs 81 cents, and one of them pays a dollar on May 30. That is 23.5% for a season in which nobody has to guess right.
The reason to trade it that way is because, since 2017-18, every Premier League title has gone to Arsenal, Manchester City or Liverpool. The last outsider to win one was Chelsea in 2016-17, and Chelsea finished 10th in May on 52 points.
Of course there are some arguments against these teams, especially Manchester City. For example, Pep Guardiola left Manchester City in May after 10 years and 20 trophies, a year early. Enzo Maresca replaced him and lost the Community Shield 3-0 to Arsenal on Sunday. City then agreed to sell Rodri, their defensive midfielder, to Barcelona for a reported £65m. Since 2020-21, City have averaged 2.35 points a game when Rodri plays and 2.00 when he does not, across 78 matches, which over a full season is 89 points against 76.
However, one cannot argue that these three teams are the strongest of the bunch and the most likely to win the EPL.
