Which actor does Amazon cast as the next James Bond?
Gary Oldman's Bond remark lifts Jack Lowden as traders weigh an unconfirmed casting choice

Amazon MGM has been looking for a new James Bond since it confirmed Denis Villeneuve as director on June 26, 2025, with Amy Pascal and David Heyman producing and Steven Knight writing. According to Kalshi, Jack Lowden is the favorite at 43% probability.
However, there is no official news about who will be cast, only rumors. Amazon MGM's only public comment is that it will share more news "as soon as the time is right". Amy Pascal told Deadline on August 3 that "the end of the year is a good bet" for an announcement. Puck's Matt Belloni then reported in early September that the shortlists going around are bogus and the screen tests will not happen until later this fall.
What made Lowden the favorite on the board was that Gary Oldman, who plays his boss on Slow Horses, told The Hollywood Reporter on September 7 that "it's been rumored that he's on the shortlist... they have picked him. They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet. So my fingers are crossed for Jack."
The name that fits the reported brief is not the favorite, though. Page Six put Barton on top on August 26, and he is 31, trained at the Oxford School of Drama, and has supporting credits in Heartstopper, Poor Things and SAS: Rogue Heroes. Villeneuve is reported to want an unknown British actor young enough to carry five films across 15 years.
We believe the Lowden contract is overpriced because traders rushed to buy it as soon as the Oldman news broke. This is precisely why we bet on ‘No’ Jack Lowden at 57 cents to secure 75.44%.
